At Newzoo, we collect data from a large variety of sources. However, these raw data sources are still a far step from being able to present to our clients. Our models turn to combine and shape raw data into clear estimates, which in turn provide clients with key inputs for business decisions and helps them sketch an overall view of the gaming and entertainment landscape. These models provide estimates for key performance indicators such as players and revenue for thousands of titles across multiple platforms. We are looking for a Data Modeler who has a passion for the games industry to join us in building industry-leading estimates on title and market performance.
In this role, you will be working in our data foundation team. You will further develop and evolve our data models, working on a variety of challenges as our roadmap continues to evolve.

We want to hear from candidates who have built models that use elemental datasets to build robust and scalable models that can withstand the scrutiny of our clients. Are you able to think creatively on how to overcome roadblocks? Are you able to distill a variety of signals into clear conclusions for your models? Can you form your own opinion on where the model needs to go? Can you constantly challenge your own assumptions?
You should have a few years of professional experience as a data modeler, with a proven track record of building estimates. High preference will be given to candidates who have experience in the technologies we use and have an affinity with the gaming market.

What's It Like To Work Here
You will be part of the Data Foundation team based out of our office in Amsterdam, a 10-minute cycle ride from Amsterdam Centraal. You will work closely with other departments within Newzoo, e.g. our platform engineers and analysts.
In terms of team culture, we are relaxed. We work with Scrum, in weekly sprints. We adopt an accountability-based management style. We do not micromanage, instead, communication channels within the team are open. Project management is done in a collaborative manner, you will contribute towards setting the weekly sprint goals (i.e. what we are committing to doing that week) and actively suggest ways forward. We expect you to be self-motivated and self-organizing. We encourage initiative and experimenting with new technologies.
